The Volunteer Center of Silicon Valley & the Santa Clara County Emergnecy Managers Association present:
Disaster Volunteer Management 101 Northern Region
A field management course designed for city staff responsible for supervising and managing volunteers during disaster response and recovery
LEARN effective and time efficient techniques for orienting, training and supervising volunteers in a disaster, particularly volunteers not previously affiliated with your organization. The workshop will also cover Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program guidelines from the State of California for disaster volunteer management.
Audience: Local government staff such as Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Police, Fire, Finance and others who may be responsible for supervising volunteers following a major disaster.
This workshop is designed for the cities of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale. (Note: This is one of 4 workshops being conducted throughout the county during 2008).
